CULLMAN – Indian visionary Mahatma Gandhi taught, “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
Visionaries from near and far will come together on Friday, May 6 to seek inspiration and focus on what characteristics and traits are required to become a visionary leader in our local and worldwide communities. Visionary leaders are those within a community who are sought out for their creative solutions, peacekeeping strategies and ability to create within themselves and the world around them a more productive atmosphere.
The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce, Chick-fil-A of Cullman and Daystar Church are teaming up to bring Leadercast 2016 to Cullman, where local attendees will be joining, via simulcast, 125,000 participants in Atlanta along with the millions of other attendees throughout the world on Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
The event, scheduled at Daystar’s Good Hope Campus, will broadcast a live simulcast of speakers including University of Alabama Coach Nick Saban, Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, CBS sports and news broadcaster James Brown and many others.
Prominent Atlanta pastor Andy Stanley, founder of North Point Ministries, has authored many books of encouragement and mentored countless young men and women. His book, “Visioneering,” specifically addresses the call to mentor younger generations in a pay-it-forward type of movement which clearly speaks to the “Architects of Tomorrow” theme of this year’s Leadercast event.
Additionally, the day will feature several leaders recognized in Cullman such as Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry, Daystar Pastor Jerry Lawson, Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette and Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator Randy Earnest who will engage in a Q&A session during this year’s event.
John Williams, relationships and marketing director at Chick-fil-A at Cullman spoke to some of Cullman’s issues that require the creative solutions of a community of visionaries. “We have particular challenges in front of us in Cullman and that’s part of the reason we’ve invited the panel discussion guests that we have. Part of dreaming for the future of Cullman for the next 5, 10, 15, 30, 50 years is we have a workforce that needs invested in and we have a workforce that needs grown and we are making leaps and strides to attract industry here; however, industry is learning that our workforce needs developed. That’s one of our local challenges and that’s why we’ll have those particular panel members to address our future.”
