GOOD HOPE – The Good Hope City Council met Monday night, and County Road 469 was the topic of the night. Specifically, paying for resurfacing of the road.
Resolution no. 010-2016, an agreement between the Cullman County Commission, the City of Cullman and the City of Good Hope to each pay a portion of the cost to resurface County Road 469 and share in its maintenance, was discussed and approved.
Resolution no. 010-2016 reads as follows:
Agreement with City of Cullman, Cullman County Commission and City of Good Hope Share Cost of Resurfacing County Road 469 & Maintaining a Portion of said Road
WHEREAS, the City of Good Hope has read the proposed agreement concerning sharing the cost of resurfacing County Road 469 and maintaining a portion of said County Road.
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Good Hope will benefit from the said paving and maintenance;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Good Hope may enter into an agreement with the City of Cullman and Cullman County Commission.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Jerry Bartlett, acting as the mayor of the City of Good Hope is hereby authorized to enter into said agreement and the agreement will be made part of this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the agreement be executed in the name of the City, for and on behalf of the City of Good Hope, by its Mayor.

An additional item that was approved was the salvage of a 1997 Ford F150 truck. The truck is an old Wastewater Treatment Plant vehicle.
The next Good Hope City Council meeting will be held on Monday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Good Hope City Hall. Meetings are open to the public.
