CULLMAN – At approximately 2:08 p.m. this afternoon, April 23, officers from the Cullman Police Department responded to an armed robbery call at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites located at 2052 Hayes Drive in Cullman. That's right off Interstate 65 at Exit 310.
According to police, two armed men, described as African-American wearing "hoodies zipped all the way to the top and pulled down over their faces," entered the Holiday Inn, one presenting a firearm, and demanded cash.
Employees complied with the robbers' demands, and the suspects left the hotel on foot, headed north toward Musgrove Apartments.
According to a source within the CPD, officers brought in specially-trained dogs that tracked the robbers' scents from Musgrove, through a tunnel under the Interstate, where the scent trail disappeared.
The suspects have not been located and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries reported.
