Randall Steven Deaver, 64 of Arley, passed away on April 8, 2016 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Randall was born on March 8, 1952 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Jacksonville High School in 1970, and earned a Bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University in 1974. Randall was in the Army 101st Airborne Division for 32 years before he retired. He served his tour of duty in Operation Desert Storm and earned a Bronze Star medal. Randall was a member of Meek Baptist for 10 years. He played football at Jacksonville State University and was given the nickname "Dawg."
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Meek Baptist Church, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Brother Thomas Hyche will officiate. Burial will follow in the Meek Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicky Deaver; sons, Tommy Deaver and Andy Deaver; daughter, Angela (Clint) Rogers; brother in-law, Rick White; sister in-laws, Greta Deaver and Becky Wilson; nephews, Tony Deaver, Vic Wilson and Josh Wilson; nieces, Robin Curvin, Amanda Terry, Carrie Haynes and Brookie Harbinson. He was "Paw Paw" to 3 grandchildren, Cameron Deaver, Brooklyn Deaver and Gavin Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Dolores Deaver; brother, Stan Deaver, and brother in-law, Paul Wilson.
