Cullman County coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick has released the names of the two deceased individuals, located in a wooded area on Friday afternoon.

Mother and son Neysa Wood,49, a white female and Daniel Wood, 28, a white male were both from Cullman, according to Kilpatrick.

Kilpatrick said that it "appears to be suicide but an autopsy is going to be performed."

More will be released once autopsy reports are released.

CULLMAN – "Foul play not suspected at this time," said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry in regards to two bodies found in a wooded area behind Cracker Barrel, located off of Highway 157.

"It's important for people to know we do not suspect foul play was involved," he said.

The two unidentified bodies were found by acquaintances of the deceased, according to Gentry.

"The call came in around 2:35 p.m. today (Friday) by acquaintances of the deceased," he said. "At this time the coroner is notifying next of kin, so we are not releasing any other details at this time."

Gentry said the investigation is ongoing and that the two bodies will be sent off for autopsies to determine the cause of death.

"Until we get the report back from the autopsies we cannot say what caused the deaths."
