Mrs. Silbia Kampmeier passed away peacefully in her home in Helena, Alabama in the early morning of March 21, 2016.
Mrs. Kampmeier was born and raised in Vinemont, Alabama. Upon graduation from high school, she followed her dream of attending The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. While there, she worked at the campus library to finance her education and ultimately achieved her goal of a degree in Mathematics. After graduation, she had a long career as a well-respected mathematician at Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in Chattanooga, TN where she lived for many years and then subsequently in Cullman and Helena.
Silbia loved to travel, read and spend time with her large extended family.
Mrs. Kampmeier was preceded in death by her loving husband Roland Kampmeier, her parents Columbus Jarrett Scott and Ana Mabrey Scott, 5 brothers, Clinton, Cordis, Carmel, Parks, and Macon Scott and dear stepdaughter Ann Qualman.
She is survived by two brothers Foy Scott of Rockville Indiana and Ollie W. Scott (Mary) of Helena, Alabama, two Sister-in-Laws, Jean Scott and Peggy Scott. She is also survived by two step-children William “Bill” Kampmeier (Paige) and Susan Kampmeier Stein (George), son-in-law Harry Qualman, grandchildren, Anna Qualman (Eric), Sara Qualman (Alejandro), Jennifer Lehrman (Daniel), Deborah Kampmeier (John), Ada Laura Stein (Sune Thorsteinsson), Jannon Stein, Julia Stein, 7 great-grandchildren(Sofia, Ilana, Maia, Ollin, Miguel, Aaliyanah, & Erik Bjarthur) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family deeply appreciates the special care given by the fabulous staff at New Beacon Hospice and her caregivers (especially Emily Lacey, Shanna Swimelar, Cate Andrews, Whitley Chapman, & Erika Carr ).
Visitation will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity in her memory.
