Reverend Blanton Leeth Adair, 81 of Hartselle, entered into rest on March 17, 2016 at St. Vincent's Hospital.

Brother Adair was born on May 5, 1934 in Winston County. Blanton was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church for 10 years. He served as a pastor of Welcome Baptist Church in Baileyton, Alabama, Pleasant Mount Baptist Church in Remlap, Alabama, East Side Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama, Roebuck Plaza Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, Hasson Height Baptist Church in Oil City, Pennsylvania, Addison First Baptist Church in Addison, Alabama, First Baptist Church in Grant, Alabama for a total of 21 years. He was the Director of Missions for the Winston County Baptist Association for 21 years. He was a deacon at Fourth Ave Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Blanton was a graduate of Meek High School, Howard College (aka, Samford University) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoyed mission trips, fishing, and bird hunting.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Addison First Baptist Church, where he will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Brother Kerry Cleghorn and Brother Jack Redfearn will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Helicon Community.

Blanton is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Helen Adair; daughters, Theresa (David) Thomas, Rita (Danny) Crider, Vanita (Kerry) Cannon, Melodi (Joseph) Young; step children, Deborah (Emmett) Bell, Donna (Johnny) Smith, Daina Horton, Darla Kelsoe, David Hogan, and Derek (Kim) Hogan. He was "Granddaddy" to 5 grandchildren, Kelly (Kyle) Eaton, Melita Thomas, Nathan (Leslie) Thomas, Alissa (Steven) Riley, Amy (Corey) Stringer; 8 great grandchildren, Natalie Crider, Ella Grace Crider, A.C. Eaton, Rhett Eaton, Emalyn Riley, Adalyn Stringer, Jacob Thomas, Jesse Thomas; 11 step grandchildren, Terry Crow, Jaime (Jeff) Summerford, Brandi (Lance) McCleskey, Amber (John) Kinch, Alisa (Jessie) Holt, Kayla Smith, Jacob (Tara) Smith, Whitney Kelsoe, Garrett Kelsoe, Brittany Hogan, Kelsey Hogan; and 9 step great grandchildren, Karlie McCleskey, Dylan McCleskey, Houston McCleskey, Evan Smith, Lydia Holt, Jaxen Summerford, Lawson Holt, Jenna Summerford, and Eason Smith.

He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Jean Ward Adair; grandson, Jonathan David Crider; parents, Amos and Lodi Adair; brothers, Carl Johnson, Winfred Johnson, Mancel Adair, Leon Adair; sisters, Jessie Mae Sewell, and Barbara Adair James.
