CULLMAN – Cullman Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is pleased to welcome pulmonologist Karl Schroeder, MD to the medical staff, specifically to the practice of Cullman Primary Care Multi-Specialty Group. He is currently scheduling appointments for new patients.

Schroeder is passionate about the early detection of lung cancer. With this, he has started a Lung Nodule Clinic in which he biopsies small nodules found in a patient’s lungs in order to detect and treat lung cancer early.

“I’m excited to bring the new LungGPS technology to the Cullman area,” Schroeder said. “This advanced technology can aid in earlier diagnoses of lung cancer which may allow for less invasive treatments for patients.”

A native of Huntsville, Schroeder received his medical degree in 2007 from the University of South Alabama in Mobile after receiving his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Montevallo. Schroeder completed his internal medicine residency and internship at the University of South Alabama in 2010. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at the University of South Alabama.

Schroeder is married to Dr. Melissa Schroeder, an internal medicine physician currently practicing in Pinson. They have three children. In his free time, he enjoys watching his kids play soccer, playing golf and spending time with his family.

To schedule an appointment with Schroeder, call the CRMC Physician Referral Line at 256- 735-5600 to be connected directly to his office or visit www.crmchospital.com.
