Mrs. Thornton was born October 02, 1924 in Memphis TN, to John R Rother and Anna Flowers Rother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rupert Bailey Thornton, sister, Bess Hendricks,
Survivors include her son, Steven Lowell Thornton, daughter, Judith Robin T. Stewart; five granddaughters, Rachel Louise Stewart, Molly Rebecca Stewart, Hannah Elizabeth Stewart, Cary Josephine Thornton, and Stephanie Louise Thornton; sister, Sue Landrum Rother; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
