Ray Morris Clark, Jr., 58 of Houston, entered into rest on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Ray was born on April 26, 1957 in Guilford, North Carolina. He worked in construction all of his adult life, working the last 13 years for SE Homes as a service contractor. Ray was an avid fisherman and was a member of the American Bassfishing Club (ABC) and National Bassfishing Trail (NBT), where he formerly served as an officer in both clubs. He was also a member of the Smith Lake Bass Hookers and had won numerous fishing tournaments all over. In 2011, Ray won the American Cancer Society Life Inspiration Award.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church in the Moreland Community, where services will be at 2 p.m. Brother Abe Rooks and Brother Rick Moody will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Ray is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sheryl Rooks Clark; daughters, Shena Ward, and Christina McLay and her husband Edward; sisters, Lisa Clark Smith and her husband Kendall, and Angela Dawn Allen; daughter in law, Rebecca Rowan Clark; father in law and mother in law, who he considered as parents, Buddy and Janet Rooks. He was "Pop" to 6 grandchildren, Sawyer Clark, Caden Wolfe, Charlie Grace Clark, Megan Clark, Morgan Clark and Bill Williams IV.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Clark; parents, Ray Morris Clark, Sr. and Margaret Clark; and brother in law, Mike Rooks.
