Obituary: Betty Dillard Fortenberry

Betty Dillard Fortenberry, 77 of Huntsville, entered into rest on February 18, 2016.

Mrs. Fortenberry was born on February 16, 1939. Betty was a retired teacher of 39 years. She was a faithful member of Mayfair Church of Christ for 35 years, a member of North Alabama Railroad Museum, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Entombment will follow in Winston Memorial Mausoleum.

Betty is survived by her brothers, Charles R. Dillard Jr., Robert R. Dillard and his wife Paulette; sisters, Linda D. Haddock and her husband Lloyd, and Emma D. Burch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Fortenberry and her parents, Charles R. Dillard Sr. and Thelma W. Dillard.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Childhaven, American Heart Association or Daughters of the American Revolution.
