Obituary: Gary Allen Manley

Gary Allen Manley, 75, of Arley, entered into rest on February 9, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Manley was born on January 20, 1941 in Jasper, Alabama. He attended Walker High until the eleventh grade and graduated from Jacinto High in Houston, Texas. Gary was in the Army for three years, and was a member of numerous Baptist churches over the years. He worked twenty-one years for Texas Instruments, and was owner/operator for five years of Ben's #6 in Houston, Alabama. Gary loved to fish, hunt, and play cards.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady, Texas. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Lovelady, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Vern Jeffus Manley; sons, Bryon Kelly (Jeri Dawn) Manley, and Duane Harlis Manley; brother, Seth Owen (Diane Blackwell) Manley; sisters, Zelda Manley Banks, and Veva Manley (J.D.) Naramore; sister in-law, Hiedi Manley. He was "Paw Paw' to six grandchildren, Meagan Kyle, Jamie Kyle, Garrett Manley, Zane Manley, Savannah Manley and Gracie Manley. He was a favorite "Uncle Gary" to a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy O. and Hazie Black Manley; brother, Kent Walker Manley; brother in-law, Benjamin H. Banks.
