Obituary: Mr. James Franklin Bailey

Memorial Services for James Franklin Bailey, age 74 of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in the Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Phillip Nichols.

Mr. Bailey was born on December 23, 1941 in Tennessee, to the late Chauncey Leroy Bailey & Elma Edna Cantrell Bailey. He passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his home.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce, and served in the Vietnam War, was a Paul Harris Rotarian; and elected Trustee to the Carol Stream Library in Illinois, a past recipient of Citizen of the Year in Carol Stream, IL. Mr. Bailey was a avid story teller and completely adored his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters & four brothers.

Survivors include his Wife of 36 years – Leigh Stapleton Bailey; 4 – Daughters – Julie Morris, Jacqueline Bailey, Amy Ackley & Arminda Branaman; 4 – Grandchildren – Caleb Morris, Breiana Morris, Wyatt Branaman & Alle Ackley; Brother – Joseph Bailey; and a Host of Nieces & Nephews.

His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.

The family request donations be made in Lieu-of-Flowers in his name to the Carol Stream Public Library or the local VFW post #2214 in Cullman.
