CULLMAN – Alabama-based emergency medical services provider Regional Paramedical Services (RPS) is expanding its presence in Cullman County by adding more trucks and paramedics to cover the area. The company opened its new, centralized location at the old Woodland Hospital building on Thursday, Dec. 17. The grand opening was sponsored by the Cullman Chamber of Commerce, with a ribbon cutting ceremony including Cullman Mayor Max Townson.
RPS is proud to be one of three ambulance services in Alabama and the only ambulance service in Cullman that is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
Previously located in north Cullman, RPS stated that the reason for the relocation to the new building is “in order to be more centralized and accessible to the citizens of the community.”
RPS was founded by Mr. John Wills in 1987 in Walker County. At the time, RPS had two ambulances and eight employees. After more than twenty years, RPS has increased its fleet to more than 100 ambulances and has more than 600 employees. Most of the staff are lifelong local residents who are familiar with and know the communities in which they work, which RPS says is in advantage to the communities it serves.
RPS serves the counties of Walker, Jefferson, Marion, Shelby, Chilton, Winston, St. Clair, Talladega and Cullman.
