Funeral service for Elbert Wood England, 90, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Cullman Church of Christ with interment in Cullman City Cemetery, Minister James Pilgrim officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. England passed away Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 at his residence at Morningside Assisted Living. He was born December 19, 1924 to parents, Charles Fletcher and Jessie Elizabeth Fitzgerald England. He was a longtime member of Cullman Church of Christ. Mr. England served his country in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He retired from Cullman Jefferson Natural Gas and after retirement he worked for Cullman City Schools in heating and A/C maintenance. Mr. England was an avid Braves fan and loved building bird houses. He loved people and never met a stranger; he had a true servant’s heart.
Mr. England was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward England, Buck England, Paul England, R.H. England.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Teague England; daughters, Sandra Watts and Cathy Lamar; grandchildren, Kyle (Marci) Watts, Jeff (Elizabeth) Lamar, Jennifer (Scotty) Dupree; great-grandchildren, Clara Katherine Watts, Walker Kyle Watts, Minor Lamar, Asher Lamar, Bailey McQuaig, Keaton McQuaig, Tatum Dupree; a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 12 through 2 p.m. at Cullman Church of Christ.
