Iva Lee McAfee Brown of Centerville, Georgia (formerly of Cullman) entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family. She attended Cullman High School, Birmingham Business College and Florence State Teachers College. She began her career in teaching at Trimble Elementary School. She changed her career and worked in Administration at Holeproof Hosiery in Cullman. After marrying Kenneth P. Brown (also of Cullman) she traveled the world with him during his service in the US Army and she worked for Civil Service until she retired.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM. at Moss Service Funeral Chapel. Pastor Joshua P. Martin will officiate, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Dewey McAfee and Minnie Alvis McAfee; brother, Leldon D. McAfee; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hancock McAfee and three nephews.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth P. Brown; daughter, Debra Brown Martin; grandchildren: Joshua P. (Paige) Martin of Greenwood, Indiana; and Kara Lee Martin (Tom) Kamrowski of Byron, Georgia; four great-grandchildren: Morgan and Ella Grace Martin, and Lucas and Sunnie Kamrowski; two brothers: Charles M. McAfee of Hartselle, Donald (Shirley) McAfee of Clanton, AL; sister-in-law, Melva Hancock McAfee of Cullman; three sisters: Dorothy McAfee Hancock of Cullman, Wynona McAfee (Billy) Hyde of Aiken, S.C. and Lawanna McAfee (Don) Greer of Cullman and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
