CULLMAN — A cancer diagnosis of any kind sends chills down most people’s spine and triggers much stress. That diagnosis coupled with not having the financial means to pay for treatment can seem completely overwhelming. Luckily, Cullman area community members have options to assist them in getting the treatment they need.

Cullman Regional Medical Center’s mission is to care for the community, even those struggling with a financial hardship. CRMC’s Nurse Navigation Services offers the following services to all cancer patients:

  • Patient Support Team — helps patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options
  • Financial Counseling — works with CRMC Financial Counselors to secure payment arrangements for tests, procedures, treatments and surgeries for patients who may qualify for the CRMC charity program

“It has come to our attention that some Cullman area cancer patients may not be receiving treatment due to a financial hardship,” said President/CEO James Clements. “Therefore, we have set-up a Cancer Resource Hotline to help these patients receive the care they need as soon as possible.”

Cancer patients in need of treatment may call the CRMC Cancer Resource Hotline at 256-737-2111 to speak with a nurse navigator, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

“CRMC is proud to serve the people of this community in their time of need, and we are dedicated to being the provider of choice for all of the people in our community,” Clements concluded.
