CULLMAN – The Cullman County Commission on Aging along with the Better Business Bureau will be hosting Cullman County’s first ever Scam Jam / Health Fair on Aug. 28. It is designed to educate the public on today’s scams, how to protect against fraud, and what steps to take if fallen victim.
The panel will consist of representatives from the FBI, Alabama Securities Commission, Alabama Attorney General’s Office, United States Postal Inspection Service, Cullman County Sheriff’s Department, Senior Medicare Patrol, People’s Bank, and the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama.
A wide range of vendors will also be available offering their services ranging from Attorneys that specialize in fraud representation to Social Security representatives.
In addition to the Scam Jam, there will be a Health Fair offering free hearing test, bone density screenings, BMI checks, and blood pressure checks.
Various health related vendors will be on site as well. The entire event is free including lunch to the first 300 attendees.
There will be door prizes and drawings throughout the event. Doors open at 9:00 a.m.
The event will be held at The Beech Center, 1803 Beech Ave SE, Cullman, AL 35055.
