CULLMAN – Cullman Regional Medical Center physicians, leaders and clinicians recently gathered to celebrate the Center of Distinction Award, which was given to CRMC Center for Wound Healing by Healogics, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal, and other quality outcomes. There were 506 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, only 172 achieved the honor.

“CRMC is proud of the continued success of the CRMC Wound Healing Center,” said CRMC Chief Financial Officer Nesha Donaldson. “This award shows the Center’s continued commitment to improving the quality of life of patients through their services.”

The CRMC Center for Wound Healing is a member of the Healogics Network of more than 635 Centers, and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating more than two million chronic wounds. CRMC Center for Wound Healing offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

“Our physicians and staff make it a top priority to help heal the patients we serve,” said Program Director Lorie Strane, CMA, BA. “Due to the nature of our treatments, our patients become like family to us; therefore, their recovery is just as important to us as it is to them. Our success stories inspire us to continue working hard each day for each patient we serve.”
