VINEMONT – The Vinemont Eagles Baseball team will host their 1st Annual Pancake Breakfast & Silent Auction Saturday, March 14 in the school lunchroom. Plates are $7 and carry outs are available as well. The breakfast will be from 8-11 a.m., with the auction ending at 12 p.m.

“We have been very fortunate to have such generous people in our community,” said Renee Hoffman, mother of one of the players.

“I want to say thank you to all the businesses who have donated items, purchased signs, or purchased T-shirt ads from the baseball program this season. For the auction we have something for everyone – shampoo gift sets, locally written books, jewelry, tools and so much more. We want to invite everyone to come out and join us Saturday,” she smiled.

The Vinemont Eagles have a new baseball coach this year, Jason Veres. He is a 2003 graduate of Vinemont and was also a hind catcher under Coach Cupp.

Coach Veres is working hard to make the program the best it can be.

“I hope to raise enough money to get netting for our field,” said Veres with a grin.     “We lose a lot of baseballs each season by being hit into the woods. If we can get netting up this would make it safer for our fans, as well as save the program lots of money."

“In addition to the breakfast and silent auction, we will also be raffling off a Gift Card Tree,” said Tumika Noblett, another team mom.

“It is a real tree with lots of gift cards attached to it. All the cards were donated from various local businesses all over town. It will be a sight to see and a delight to win.”

Make plans to come out to Vinemont High School on March 14 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. to enjoy a delicious breakfast and bid on a variety of local items.

The cost is $7 per plate and all proceeds go to the Vinemont High School baseball team.
