Funeral service for Addie Luene Rice, 71, of the Mt. Joy Community will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Revs. Brandon Stripling, Mike Lansford and Steve Rodgers officiating. The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rice passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born October 26, 1943 to parents, Belvin Richard and Melba Aaron Stricklin. She was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church since 1958 and was actively involved in multiple ministries. She loved her family and loved cooking for her family and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; and a special adopted brother, David Aaron.
Survivors include her beloved and faithful husband of 53 years, Jurl Reese Rice; children, Mitchell (Teresa) Rice, Michael (Marcie) Rice, Michele (Mark) Wilson, Megan (Brandon) Stripling; grandchildren, Nicholas (Chelsea) Rice, Nathan (Jessica) Rice, Keisha (Justin) Day, Clint Rice, Nathalie (Jacob) Henderson, Matthew Wilson, Mandrea Wilson, Addie Stripling, Brady Stripling; step-grandchildren, Brittney (Mike) Lynn, Amber (Robert) Anderson, Tiffany (Albert) Yarbrough, Justin (Marie) Calvert, Hannah Hawkins; Great-grandchildren, Kara Day, Izzy Rice, Kent Day, Kaylee Henderson, Bentley Rice; Step-great-grandchildren, Tristin Calvert, Cadin Calvert, Kaylee Lynn, Karly Lynn, William Yarbrough, Jayden Leeth; brothers and sisters, Bobby (Myra) Stricklin, Wanda (H.C.) Shelton, Teresa (Maurice) Rice, Ricky (Tammy) Stricklin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday at Mt. Joy Baptist Church from 1p.m. until 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Rice, Nathan Rice, Clint Rice, Justin Day, Jacob Henderson, Justin Calvert, Matthew Wilson, Brady Stripling.
