CULLMAN – February is known as the month of valentines and love, but the Cullman County Public Library System refers to it as “Love My Library” month. This means that from February 1-28, 2015 the library is granting amnesty, or forgiveness for fines. In other words, the library will forgive all overdue fines on patrons’ records.
“In honor of ‘Love My Library’ month, if a patron has overdue fines, or fines for using the incorrect book drop, we will waive the fines if they come to the library in person,” said Library Director Max Hand. “If they have lost their library card or if it’s torn up or broken, we will replace or upgrade their card free of charge this month as well. This is a $3 value.”
Patrons must visit the library to verify identity and request their fines be removed. Keep in mind, only overdue fines will be waived, not fees for lost or damaged items. If you or someone you know owes overdue book fines or needs a new library card, get to the library and take advantage of this very generous event.
The Cullman County Public Library is located at 200 Clark Street NE Cullman, AL 35055 and their phone number is 256-734-1068. Their hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
