Funeral service for Shirley Faye Harris, 71, of Etha community will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Etha Baptist Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Dr. Tim Lipsey and Bro. Josh Swindall officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Harris passed away Friday, January 30th at her residence. She was born June 28, 1943 to parents, Richard Clyde & Hazel Josephine Kelley Johnston. She was a dedicated wife, mama and maw maw. She fought for 25 years of valvular heart disease and in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or Etha Baptist Church building fund.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Hanvey, brother, Kenneth Johnston; son-in-law, Terry Green.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Harris; two daughters, Melanie Green of Waleska, Georgia and Melissa (Christopher) Shaw of Canton, Georgia; brother, Roy (Denise) Johnston of Santa Fe, Tennessee; a sister, Ruth Bates of Eva; grandchildren, Avery Shaw and Tyler Shaw; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday evening at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
