Funeral service for Horace Edward Horton, 75, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 16th, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Revs. William McClellan and Junior Garmon officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m.
Mr. Horton passed away January 13th, 2015 at Falkville Health Care. He was born July 1, 1939 to parents, Athel & Ruth Riggs Horton. He was a lifelong member and deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was employed at Cullman Products for approximately 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and spending time with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Joyce Stallings Horton; brothers, Hollis Horton, and Frankie Horton.
Survivors include his daughter, Shawn (Anthony) Phillips; sister, Peggy (Millard) Mason; brother, James (Vonell) Horton; grandsons, Tyler Phillips, Trey Phillips; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Bill) Mulkey, Diane (Malcolm) Sybert, Betty (George) Fairbanks; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m.
