OBITUARY: Larry Joe Entrekin

Funeral Services for Mr. Larry Joe Entrekin, age 77 of Cullman, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cullman City Cemetery, with Bro. James Entrekin officiating.

Larry J. Entrekin was born April 26, 1937 and died on January 3, 2015 at age 77. His parents were Lowell Entrekin and Dovie Roden Entrekin. He had five siblings, Charles, Howard, Earney, Judy and Pat. He attended school at Logan elementary, was a graduate of West Point High School. He was a graduate of Saint Bernard College where he earned a degree in business.

He was married to his only loving wife Linda Land Entrekin for 45 years until her passing in 2006. He was the proprietor of Larry's Chevron and later became the Executive Director of The Cullman Housing Authority where he served the tenants from 1985 until his retirement in 2004.

He loved to fish, listen to gospel music, read his Bible and watch his grandchildren participate in sporting events. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the Cullman Masonic Lodge where he served as chaplain for a period of time. He lived his entire life in Cullman and served two terms as Police and a third as Street Commissioner. He loved Cullman and dedicated much of his life to make it better.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, brothers, and sister Judy Entrekin Morgan. Survivors include his three children Scott Entrekin, Jeff Entrekin, and Teresa E. Atkinson. Six grandchildren, Katye(Dennis) Forrester, Jennifer (Nick)Branham, Caragan O'Neil, Jake Entrekin, Cade Entrekin, Chase Woods-Entrekin and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Monday, January 05, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
