Funeral services for Lura M. Basinger, 87, of Hanceville will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel; with interment in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mrs. Basinger passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Arbell Abel Murphy; husband, Volen Basinger; daughter, Patricia Basinger and grandchild, Sammy Basinger.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice York Raines; son, Tommy (Valorie) Basinger; grandchildren, Bridget (Warren) Ratliff, Josh (Skylar) York, Amanda York, Heather Phillips and Jennifer Sharp; great grandchildren, Lexie York, Stephen Ratliff, Abby Sharp, Katy Ratliff, Hagen York, Dylan Lazaro and Adalynn Sharp; sister, Pearlie (Charles) Shackelford; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; and special extended family, Lisa York and Brian Sharp.
