Funeral services for Cloia Ruth Smith, 77, of Cullman will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Church; with interment in the adjoining cemetery. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie P. and Myrtice Benefield Banister; her husband, James “Boots” Smith; two sons, Jimmy Smith and Doug Smith; a daughter, Linda Strong; a son-in-law, Donnie Strong; brothers, Verbon, Horace, Curt, Dorace and Bert Banister; sisters, Lucille Shedd and Cwilla Jimmerson.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny (Melissa) Smith and Ed (Angela Powell) Smith; a daughter, Shelia (Gary) Cooper; grandchildren, Angel Stinson, Carla Davis, Hope Strong, Jonathan Smith, Jamie Gregory, Magan Grigsby, Brandi Jones, Jaclyn Smith, Dana Allen, Hollie Bright, Brigget Barnhill, Falon Smith, Tela Moreland, Brett Johnson, Zach Johnson, Kayla McKinnon and Shayna Cooper; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
