CULLMAN – A power outage is currently affecting residents living in the eastern portion of Cullman city and sporadic locations throughout the county.

Cullman Power Board Director Mime Manning said the substation is jointly operated by the CPB and Cullman Electric Cooperative.

"On our end (CPB) there are between 1,200 and 1,800 residents currently without power," Manning said. "We are working with the co-op to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. We've crews on the scene now, so we are asking those impacted by the outage to please be patient."

Brian Lacy, Communications Manager Cullman Electric Cooperative, said there are roughly 1,000 residents without power.

CullmanSense will post updates as they are relayed in to the office.
