PREP FOOTBALL: Raiders fall to Cordova 48-41

GOOD HOPE – Costly turnovers and big plays doom Good Hope in 48 – 41 loss. Cordova used an opening kickoff return, a punt return and rushing touchdowns of 66, 62, 47, 41, and 3 yards to take the win.

 

Good Hope’s Riley Eisner had 5 touchdown passes, the first one an 11 yard strike to Jordan Collins, then he hit Kainan Smith with an 11 yard and a 49 yard touchdowns, to tie the score at 20-20 at the end of the first quarter.

 

Good Hope would not score in the second quarter and the Blue Devils would take a 34-20 lead.

 

In the third quarter Eisner hits Reece Harbison on a 13 yard score to bring the score 40-27 at the end of the period,

 

The 4th quarter had Cordova up 48 -27 with just 1:42 left when Jared McClure runs one into the end zone from 9 yards out.

 

Good Hope recovered the onside kick, and Eisner hits Harbison on a 43 yard flea flicker to bring the score to 48-41. The ensuing onside kick failed and Cordova runs out the clock.

 

The Raiders had 1 pass picked off and a fumble inside the Blue Devils 20 yard line, and also a pass picked off in the end zone.

 

Good Hope will host Westminister next week.
