Funeral services for Louise Lowery McCurdy, 88, of Cullman, will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Livingston Chapel United Methodist Church; with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McCurdy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Woodland Village Health Care Center.
She taught 2nd grade at Vinemont School for 39 ½ years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Velma Dye Lowery; husband, G.H. McCurdy; son, Gilmer McCurdy; brothers, Hershel Lowery and LaFayette Lowery and sister-in-law, Jennie Lowery.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Laurie Lou (Michael) Smith; great grandson, Parker McCurdy Smith; daughter-in-law, Carlene McCurdy (Vick) Terry and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
