CULLMAN – The students at East Elementary School will present the Broadway Musical, Oklahoma! On Friday, April 25th at 7 p.m. and this Saturday, April 26th, at 1 p.m. Both public performances will be in the school gym.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. Friday and at 12 p.m. on Saturday. A $5 donation will be accepted at the door for admission, accept for children 5 and under. Proceeds will go to future productions by the East Elementary Musical Theater Department.
The cast is made up of 45 students in grades 2-6. They have been rehearsing daily after school since February. Cullman High School drama students will assist in lighting for the show.
The lighting equipment was funded by a grant from the Cullman City Schools Foundation, to enable each school in the district professional quality lighting for their productions. Additional students from CHS will provide assistance back stage for each performance. Teachers and parents have volunteered to help with the cast party, stage preparation, props, and costume making.
