CULLMAN, Ala. – A threat made online against St. Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman over the weekend was determined to not be credible, according to Cullman Police Chief David Nassetta.

Nassetta said the threat was routed through a school network in Virginia, and the CPD felt it was not credible.

Over the past few years, schools and public buildings have been targets of online threats, including schools inside Cullman County. Nassetta said this weekend’s threat was similar in nature.

“It is a hoax that is meant to scare and disrupt daily activities,” Nassetta stated. “We are still going to provide St. Bernard with extra police presence over the next few days and encourage those on the campus to be alert.”

St. Bernard dismissed classes for the day Monday out of caution, but classes will are set to resume Tuesday.
