CULLMAN COUNTY – Local high school football teams are heading into week eight, and the play-off picture is starting to take shape with teams deep in region play. Here is a look at tonight's matchups.

Addison (5-2, 3-1 in 1A Region 7) at Meek (5-2, 1-2 in 1A Region 7)

Addison looks to take one step closer to the blue map as the Bulldogs head to Meek this week for the Backyard Brawl. The Bulldogs hope to keep the momentum going from their 32-14 win over Decatur Heritage last week. Meek hopes to pull even in 1A Region 7 play this week after taking down R.A. Hubbard 43-28 last Friday.

Cold Springs (1-5, 0-3 in 2A Region 7) at Winston County (1-5, 1-2 in 2A Region 7)

Cold Springs hopes to get back in the win column this week after falling to West End 35-7 last Friday. The Eagles look to pick up their first regional win as they had to Winston County this week.

Fairview (2-3, 0-3 in 5A Region 6) at Curry (3-3, 1-2 in 5A Region 6)

Fairview has had its shares of ups and downs this year but look for this week to be an upswing as the Aggies try to pick up their first region win when they had to Curry to take on the Yellowjackets.

Good Hope (3-3, 1-3 in 4A Region 6) vs. Haleyville (2-4, 1-2 in 4A Region 6)

Good Hope is looking to pick up its second 4A Region 6 win of the season after falling at Winfield 28-12 last week. The Raiders look to do this as they welcome Haleyville to town.

Hanceville (1-6, 0-4 in 3A Region 6) vs. Holly Pond (4-2, 1-2 in 3A Region 6)

It has been a tough season for the Hanceville Bulldogs thus far as they are winless in the region. They look to change this as they welcome the 4-2 Holly Pond Broncos to town. The Broncos have had a nice season outside of region play but look to take down the Bulldogs and pick up their second region win of the year.

Vinemont (2-4, 1-2 in 3A Region 6) at JB Pennington (5-2, 2-1 in 3A Region 6)

Vinemont is fighting hard to make the playoffs under first-year head coach Stephen Robinson and the Eagles look to take one step closer to this goal when they travel to JB Pennington this week.

West Point (4-2, 3-1 in 5A Region 6) vs. Mortimer Jordan (4-2, 3-0 in 5A Region 6)

It will be a battle Friday night as a very good West Point squad, who currently sits in the second spot in 5A Region 6, looks to knock off the first-place Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils in their own house. Watch out for West Point Warrior powerhouse Hunter Persall.
