CULLMAN – The Cullman City Parks and Recreation Foundation Board will be hosting its inaugural Dinner on First event to raise funds for the planned Connected Park project, which will feature an all-inclusive playground accessible to children of all abilities and special needs. The event is slated to kick off on Saturday, May 14, at 6 p.m.

The dinner will be catered by Cullman resident and Birmingham restaurant owner Dyron Powell, of Dyron’s Low Country Restaurant. The farm-to-table style meal will be hosted in the historic Warehouse District on First Avenue just south of the Festhalle Marketplatz.

“It is an honor to be involved in this event,” Powell stated. “After recently moving to Cullman, I am already impressed with all the great, unique things in this community, and the addition of the new inclusive community park is a cause I couldn’t pass helping out with.”

An after party will kick off at 8:30 p.m. where acoustic group Round 2 will provide music to accompany many other activities.

CP&R Executive Director Nathan Anderson said, “This will be something you won’t want to miss! The food will be delicious and the setting will be like no other experience held in Cullman. Great food, location, fellowship and music – all for a great cause, what more could you ask for in an event?”

Tickets are available online at http://cullmanrecreation.org/dinner-on-first/. Tickets can be purchased as a single for $100, a couple for $200 or a table for $800. All proceeds directly benefit the Connected Park project. For more information on the Dinner on First event, contact Christy Turner at 256-734-9157.
