CULLMAN – On Sunday, August 2, 2015, the Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) arrested Roger Dale Marks, 65 years old of Logan, Ala.

Mr. Marks was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The arrest originated in Logan, Ala. where Mr. Marks was arrested at the scene for an outstanding warrant. Deputies discovered at the scene, on the back on an ATV, freshly cut marijuana leaves. After speaking with Mr. Marks he led CCSO into the woods behind his residence and located several marijuana plants.

The arrest led to the seizure of three marijuana plants which stood at over seven foot tall and have a value of $6,000. Two more of the plants had already been destroyed before CCSO arrived.

“I would first like to say what a fine job the deputy did discovering these plants. This marijuana would have been dried out and sold. I am proud the sheriff’s office is continuing to keep drugs out of our community,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. I would also like to think the Game and Fish Enforcement for the assistance they provided,” added Gentry.

Mr. Marks is currently being held in the Cullman County Detention Center on a $6,000.00 bond.
