CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) will be hosting a Citizen’s Firearms Safety Class Tuesday, April 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church. There will be a live-fire portion of the class held Saturday, April 23 at 8:00 a.m. at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office firing range.

The class will focus on firearm safety, handling a weapon and proper technique for shooting. The recent pistol permit law for the state of Alabama will also be discussed.

Sheriff Matt Gentry said, “We are one of the most pro-Second Amendment Sheriff’s Offices in the state. We are honored to be able to host this event and provide this invaluable training. It is important that citizens have the ability to protect themselves, and know how to accomplish this safely and proficiently.”

Though registration for citizens is not required, it is strongly encouraged. To register, email: cwhaley@cullmansheriff.org.

Attendees should NOT bring a gun or ammo on Tuesday night, as it is a classroom-portion only class.
