Dyron’s Lowcountry to host benefit dinner for St. Bernard Prep

CULLMAN - In 2010, Dyron Powell, an alumnus of St. Bernard Prep School, hosted his first dinner at Dyron’s Lowcountry Restaurant in Mountain Brook, Alabama, to benefit his Alma Mater.  The dinner has grown so much in popularity that it has become an annual event, bringing friends and supporters of the school together for a night of good food, fun and fellowship. At the same time, as a benefit dinner, all proceeds from the evening go to support the school.

“I enjoyed every minute of my time spent at St. Bernard when I was a student there,” Powell said. “I have both of my two children enrolled at St. Bernard today and both are involved and love the school as much as I did.”

He continued, “My wife, Sonya, and I decided to host these dinners to help support the school. We want everyone to enjoy the evening and share a wonderful meal prepared by our staff and our chef, Randall Baldwin.”

Over the last nine years, Dyron’s Lowcountry has donated more than $100,000 to St. Bernard Prep School.

“Like so many of our alumni and benefactors, Dyron helps provide a solid financial foundation for St. Bernard,” said Fr. Marcus Voss, director of development. “Dyron believes in our program and the success we have in educating today’s young people.  It’s good to have his children currently enrolled and see them excel and become leaders in their classes and in our athletic programs.”

While the restaurant is typically closed on Mondays, Dyron’s Lowcountry will be offering their private party services to  St. Bernard by  serving a four-course, wine and food pairing dinner on Monday, Nov. 19.  Ticket reservations are $100 per person and may be made by contacting the school at 256-739-6682.  For more information on Dyron’s Lowcountry visit www.dyronslowcountry.com.
