VINEMONT – The Vinemont Town Council discussed the ordering of new baby changing tables for the community center, the hire of a new employee and holiday town hall closure at its monthly meeting on Tuesday at Vinemont Town Hall.

The council approved a motion to close Vinemont Town Hall for the week of December 24-31 in observance of the holidays. Mayor Radginal Dodson informed the council of the hire of a new maintenance employee for the Town. The employee filled the position due to the loss of a previous worker.

Mayor Dodson was given confirmation by the council that the new baby changing tables for the Vinemont Community Center have been ordered. The baby changing stations will be identical to those in the Vinemont Sports Complex.

The council also opened thank-you letters the mayor received from the Animal Welfare Association and the Good Samaritan Health Clinic. The thank-you letters were for donations Vinemont had given to the organizations.

Council members discussed the payment to Larry Cooke for the annual audit that was performed. Two payments for the audit were made during the month of June.

There are seven baseball and softball tournaments scheduled for the fall and there could be more to be scheduled. The sports complex will be shut down due to the tournaments until Aug. 26.

The council approved the minutes from last month’s meeting and June financials.

The next Vinemont Town Council meeting will take place on Aug.14 at 6 p.m. at Vinemont Town Hall. The public is invited to attend.
