CULLMAN, Ala. – The Link of Cullman County recently announced that its Master’s Hand Food Pantry will be closed until July 6 for much-needed updates, renovations and employee and volunteer training. However, its free monthly community meal will still take place, happening Thursday, June 27, at 6 p.m. Only this time, it will be a drive-through meal.

Each month, around 100 community members line up at The Link to enjoy a warm meal, generously sponsored, prepared and served by various local churches, organizations and volunteers.

“We are so thankful to partner with Daystar Church for this community meal. This month, we are doing a drive-through because of our food pantry reset.” said Julie Hall, director of programs at The Link.

For these monthly meals, the food is purchased by the night’s sponsors, who prepare the meal off-site and serve it to guests. Normally, guests dine inside, with everyone dining together. In July, normal interior seating for the monthly meal will resume.

Added Hall, “We are thankful for the willingness of Daystar to accommodate this change.”

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, guests can drive to the east parking area of The Link, located at 708 Ninth St. SE, and receive a free grilled hotdog meal, complete with chips, dessert and a drink, compliments of Daystar Church and The Link of Cullman County.
